I love carbon black but unfortunately it is not offered in the states.
Well, mine is silver gray/black. I shall say silver gray is considered the most famous color for E60. It looks awesome~!

I went with Silver Grey the second time around after having owned a Titanium Grey. The Titanium Grey to my eye often times looked dull?and the Silver Grey seems to have a bit more depth and vibrance to it (to me).
But the real reason I went with the Silver Grey was because after having driven the two colors back to back (equipped identically) it was immediately apparent that the Silver Grey was quite a bit faster and handled better when pushed to the limit. I found this to be true when comparing all the colors to Silver Grey too?

I actually got the Silver Grey because it was one of the two colors shown on the brochure and figured if BMW chose it, it must be the best.
When I go shopping for clothes and see something I like on the manequin, I always buy everything on the manequin.

My Ride: 2004 530ia, saphire black on black dakota leather, steptronic, sports package and premium package; heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, auto bixenon headlamps, rain sensor, dynamic drive, active steering, 18" rims, Harman Kardon L7, CD Changer, poplar wood with chrome accent on steering wheel and shifter, build date 10/2003
I went with Saphire Black. Had jet Black on my E39 530, had to wash it every hour.... <_<
Saphire Black is real elegant cause it gives it different color appearances of between dark grays and blacks depending on the light. Up close, once the metallic comes through, it gives it a real 'expensive color' look. The jet Black just looks too wet and reflective for my taste on the E60, since also the E60 has more harsh lines than the E39, the Saphire, being lighter, defines its sharp lines more...
... plus I had no choice, it was on the lot.
Second choice would be Titanium Grey. Gonna order an M5 in Saphire Black I think...although the Interlagos Blue might grow on me...
Opinions are right though... black colors age better with the car.
cheers!

My Ride: 05 525i SilverGray/Black Step/Nav/Cold/Premium/Xenons
My choice was Silvergray for a couple of reasons, First being i think the color shows the true muscular lines of the E60. Second as a detailer the lighter color is easier to maintain & after having 4 blacks cars in the past i know what a pain in the butt it is. I also love titanium silver but i had that on my last two 3 series.

My Ride: COMING!! 2006 M5 - December build - January delivery.
2004 530i - Silver Gray Metallic; Black Leather; Premium Pkg; Premium Sound Pkg; Cold Weather Pkg; Steptronic; Comfort Seats; Glass Moonroof; Rear Side Airbags; Adaptive Bi-xenon; Euro Rear Reflectors - Delivered 12/3/03
2003 M3 - Carbon Black Metallic; Black Leather; Premium Pkg; Park Distance Control; Xenon; Hardon-Kardon; Alum Int. Trim; SMG - Delivered 2/17/03
I chose the E60 in Silver Gray because I believe the rear side body details show up better than in Black. (I have Carbon Black on my M3 for the scientific reason that it makes the sumbitch go faster!!! )
