That's interesting, since I have been told that (off course in Germany) poplar will still be available AND they even add the LIGHTER poplar wood trim as an option for MY2005...

 

SA 437 in the German dealer info on MY2005 says: light poplar wood trim.
There is no information about a change on the dark poplar wood trim, what means it's still available...

 

That would really piss me off.....I have wanted a metal (or at least a metal look) trim all along, but was forced into a wood trim because BMW NA only allowed wood trim for the 545i (and appearently ALL Model Year 2005 E60's). I picked Anthracite Maple for my Oct 8 ED 545i SMG and was going to swap it myself later on to either the Titan II or the brushed aluminum from the upcoming M5. But if you are correct and the 545i SMG can be ordered with Satin Chrome (I assume you mean Titan II), then I would be really pissed. My car is now in "112" status, so I can't make the change to Titan II anymore (IF it is indeed available).

I don't know what type of silver you can order now, but I am still going with poplar. I told my SA to resubmit the order without any wood code. We will see what happens.

 

I wanted metal trim too but only wood was available for the 545 because it included the premium package. I will bet if popular is the default option then the fact that you are trying to order it is why it is being rejected. But you will need to verify popular is infact the standard. This happened to me for my MY2004 order.
