Is it poor style to drive with your parking lights on?

The only way I can just have my headlight rings on is to turn the light switch to parking lights. Problem is that the eyebrows and side markers come on too. Seems like only an E60 owner would know that I have my parking lights on, but is it IYO considered poor style?

Don't you have an LCI car? If so just enable DRL to get the effect you want.

IMO its not poor style to me, you would really have to look at a car in bright daylight to see the eyebrows or side markers are lit.

Yes, but that actually turns on the low beams as well. That position in my manual says it's the DRL as well, but all of the option asterisks make it difficult to know what's really there.

U sure?

On my LCI setting the switch to position 3 when its bright outside only turns on the AE's which on our cars act as DRL's. When I pull into my garage the low beams come on.

Position 0 only turns on the AE's as DRL's. Note the DRL's have to be enabled via idrive.

Now that I think of it - do you have Bi-Xenons?

Position 3 is what you want. The Angel Eyes should be on along with the rings.

+1

Also besides this you need to go into your Idrive menu and enable drl which will turn on your AE during the day. And of course make sure your lights are on #3.

OK, I guess I always thought that Angel eyes ARE the rings. It looks like the DRL option turns my high beams on a low setting.

This is what my light looks like in DRL mode activated in iDrive.

Can y'all tell me what lights I have, I'm guessing just the base model halogen ones. Here are them on brights.

I'd love to turn them to all white lights, but I'd just end up ordering the wrong damn bulbs.

Sorry for the confusion, I end up just liking the rings on at evening time. I know it's obvious I have the parking lights on, to other E60ers, I just didn't want it to be a huge faux pas.

Those low beams look like Halogens. Bi-Xenons are super white. Configuring the AE's as DRL's may only work on cars with Bi-Xenons.
