I have a 2005 530i and have noticed that the radio reception is very poor. My wife (poor thing) has a Kia Sedona and the reception never has a problem. Anyone else experiencing poor radio reception and know the possible fix?

Just install your wife's antenna from the Kia in place of the diversity antenna in the E60.

Another option is to stop listening to the radio. It's been about 10 years since I paid much attention to the radio and tape. CDs are also out in my book. It's MP3's on my iPod and Sirius/XM radio all the way.

Not a bad idea, but unfortunately my car does not MP3s in the CD player there is not AUX input for my Ipod and I am not paying $300+ so I am stuck with my wireless FM transmitter I guess for now.

I agree. The radio reception in the e60 is pathetic. I can easily listen to stations in our 2006 Subaru aorund here that are located in Pilly. The same stations sound awful in the BMW with lots of static.

Does your Subaru have a mast antenna?

I always feel like I have the opposite opinion of everyone her. I think I must have a problem. My reception is great. I live in NE Ohio and my previous car (GM) would only intermittantly get stations from Canton (30min away) - My e60 gets all of the Canton stations and some in Youngstown (60min away)

Just notice this week that reception on my 2 week old car is dire. It was much better in my last E60. Still I dont have the problems of my last car so I will live with it

The poor AM radio reception is fixed in CIP 19.1. There are some posts referring to the service bulletin identifying it. I got mine upgraded and my AM radio reception is now clear!!!

I think that sometimes FM reception is TOO GOOD! Some areas in Finland Russian and Estonian radios come through! Specially south of Helsinkin I can find several Estonian stations and there is Bay of Finland in between!
