As already stated, the car has been declaired repairable and is currently being repaired at a BMW certified shop.

Yeah well, the point isn't that it's repairable. It's that it has sustained a good amount of damage, and its reliability will never be the same. Anything is repairable if you want to toss money at it.

If I were to guess, you sound more emotionally attached to it than willing to just pick up another ride with the loss pay out.

+1. Definitely agree with nomis_nehc. Anything is repairable but the long term effect will hurt you at the end.

Why wouldn't it be? I hope it is, if I'm buying a car I want to know anything that happend to the car if I'm going to put faith in a carfax report disclosing everything.
