Poll: Suspension Help
I need to change leaking shocks on my e60 Pre-LCI 550i with sports suspension setting. Looking for a very mild drop (1 inch at max), retain ride comfort with better handling.
After hours of reading different threads about different options, I have narrowed down to two option below. I would like to cost below a grand on parts and will be doing the install myself.
1> Koni FSD with H&R Springs
2> Koni Sports with H&R Springs
Any other recommendations are also appreciated.
Edit: Long time BMW enthusiast, first e60. Recently sold my 335, pic below.

My Ride: 550i 2009 Mod. with tints all around. Got Splitter and Spoiler coming. May do an exhaust.
Okay E60. That's the reason I asked. I float sometimes from F10 & E60 models. I have an 09 550. Interested to see how many miles you got on oem shock set up before your decision to up grade? And with the suggested set up; how much better Will this improve handling. Thanks.

It's an 06 with 91k miles. Rears shocks have leaked away their last breath. From my research, people have good results with both setups but I saw some mixed reviews. To me, I care mostly about ride quality with improved handling from the monster of the car this is. An inch drop would be nice for looks but nothing more.
Problem is, most reviews I saw were either from a 530 or 535 but not many for a 550, hence the thread.

My Ride: Jet Black '05 545i, Sport/Premium Pkg, Steptronic, Adaptive Xenon, Nav, L7, Blue2th, PDC,
If I recall correctly the H&R springs will lower the stance beyond 1 inch and, a little more than that once they settle. My Eibachs (paired up with Bilstein Sports on my 05 545) up front have settled quite a bit and have often times scraped the fender, though I do love how they look and handle. The rears haven't settled as much, but at least it'll allow me to load the trunk after shopping at Costco and still maintain the excellent traction on the off ramp. Not a bad trade off I'll say.
