This morning at approximately 04:30 I was awaken by a phonecall.. from the police.

They had received a phonecall concerning a BMW parked outside our house, which had all windows down, and the sunroof open Outside, two uniformed police officers on their night patrol and in an unmarked car were waiting. It turned out that the windows had gone down and the sunroof opened sometime during the night. The conditions are pretty "dusty" outside.. and there was no apparent dust in the interior. Presumably the windows hadn't been open for a long time.. luckily.

AFAIK this has happened to people here earlier? I'm pretty sure I have not opened the windows myself during the night.. although, the key was a few meters apart from me

Yes.. However, there's a theoretical possibility that I opened the windows before I went to bed at around 23:00.. but the car was squeaky clean inside this morning. Considering the amount of dust hovering around there should have been loads of it in the car, had the windows been down for more than an hour or so.

why/how did you open the windows by accident?

Try pressing the open button of your key for a few seconds. Things should start happening to your windows.

Keep the key in the pocket, I presume.. and then somehow apply pressure until the windows are fully opened...

Its another bug. I'm sure you didnt do it accidently if you know about this feature. You would have thought about that and considered it.

I've accidently returned to find the trunk open (presumably because of the key's being in my pocket and the button getting pressed), but never the windows. Perhaps it's a ghost...
