Thumbs up

I had a Lexus IS200 before chucking it in for my E60 (Sweet ride - Sorry, had to say). In my Lexus SatNav, you could specify any POI you wanted on the screen (Hotels, Petrol Stations, Lexus Garages, Car Parks etc) and the icons are displayed when you get in that vicinity on the screen.

Why wasn't this in the BMW Sat Nav or am I missing something? I believe I know everything about the I-Drive now after several months of ownership but I am sure there is no POI in my 'Professional' Nav.

Any Ideas?

I haven't tried navigating by "Information" yet. Will the POI's show up by name and can you have it display multiple catagories?

Yes... The only thing you can't do is search by the name of the POI. But you can search for Information on location (or destination) for things such as Hotels or Electronic Gifts stores and pick from a list. Icons will also display on the map.

Not multiple categories.

POIs of a single selected category show up as the appropriate icon (with no name) distributed on the map view.
