Hi there, im having issues with my 2007 525i. I have had the car for about a year and no problems till this morning. I drove it to my buddies house down the street and when i turned it back on i got a bunch of errors (brake light, ABS, battery discharge and others). i turned it off and tried to turn it back on but it seemed like the battery died. i got a jumper box and jump it on. it turned on but the errors were still there and it would not let me put it in drive. the ABS was on and the idle was a little rough. iv'e never had any issues with my car. is it the battery? alternator? please help! thanks

Sounds like a battery failure. How old is the battery?

Yep, sounds like the battery takin a poop to me. Replace it with a stock BMW battery...they are not cheap but well worth it in my experience. Good luck.

You may not have to use a stock battery. Check out this thread https://5series.net/forums/topic/121...huge-problems/

if its a bmw battery, the manufacture date is usually stamped on top of the negative post. if its original, its due for a change anyways.

thanks for the reply guys! but i took my battery to autozone and they said it was low at first and they charged it and tested it and it came out good. no issues with the battery at all. i was thinking could it be a bad alternator? i got a message saying charging malfunction and my lights were very dim.

Check for wetness in your trunk or passenger front floor.... I am still thinking battery but if your floor or trunk are damp you may have bigger issues.

Doesnt Autozone check alternators too? Why didnt they just check it?
