Hi, I'm wondering if I could try plugging my friend's E60 CCC into my E60 to test it out. It prolly won't work on my car until I program it, but when I put it back into my friend's car, will it work or have to be reprogrammed back for his?

It will work but the display will be off unless you swap that out too. The CCC will retian the settings from your friends car and when you plug your MASK back in, your original things will be there. This is all predicated on not making any coding changes. The navigation from your friends car car will also work but you will need to install a antenna. When I installed my CCC, it came from Germany and so it did not have SAT radio and Ipod. Most everything worked but I eventually coded in the $609, otherwise I would not be able to bring back in the SAT and iPod.

I think I misunderstood your reply. I know it won't work perfectly on my car, but at least I'll be able to tell if the problem lies with my CCC. My MAIN issue is: will it cause problems for my friend's car when I put HIS CCC back into HIS car? Wouldn't want to mess up his car while testing mine. Thanks.

It hasn't when I swapped mine back and forth, so I doubt it. As mentioned, each unit is programmed to the car and the unit will not change the car. So depending on what you are testing would really be the issue. You may not be able to test unless the options are the same in each unit. E.G. If you were testing to SAT radio, and you have it and your friends car doesn't, then if you swap his into yours you will not have SAT radio becuase he didn't...
