My Ride: 2009 550i sports, Nav, logic Best E60 yet
2004 545i, sports pkg, logic 7 steptronic, rear shade, orient blue with beige interior, blue tooth enabled Razer Phone. 2004 X5 3.0, sports pkg, stepronic, summer pkg. imola red.
2006 Mini Cooper S, manual, sports, prem pkg, nav and kitchen sink.
My everyday driver's are the 2007 550i and 2008 X5 4.8 great cars, especially because I'm on the road for a living and drive about 50,000 miles a year, hence two cars. Our weekend toy is the Mini S, yes we are crazy, but the kids are out of the house and I can afford to play a little.
Since I first read about BMW's new DCT transmission, I've wanted to try it, never liked the SMG, anyway last night I talked a local dealer into letting me drice the new M3 with DCT; in the smoothest setting, the shifts smoother than my 550. The car was a blast, I was amazed how well this car drove, smooth, comfortable and very very very fast........
I want one, am I crazy to trade in a 2007 550 for an M3??????

My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i Sport
Carbon Black Metallic/Cream Beige
Manny tranny and other stuff
Recently gone, but never forgotten:
2005 Ford Mustang GT (hence the name)
Torch Red/Crimson
Manny tranny and every option available for that year
2002 Chrysler 300M Special
Brilliant Black/Light Taupe/Dark Slate
Autostick and goo-gobs of neat features that I will sorely miss
Yes, you're certifiable. But no moreso than I. I'm really wondering about trading "down" from my '08 550i Sport to an M3 sedan.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Why not, the X5 handles the family and everyday driving.
A M3 coupe with DCT fits 4 persons for joyrides.
But you will probably loose your drivers license for speeding...

I thought about it many times and did it by going to 335i and back to 550i, even with the M3 I think I would still miss the luxury and roominess of the 550i. The tough choices we have to make???

Ya, you are probably crazy, but then, as car-nuts we have all done crazy things in the past.....drive what you enjoy the most, and let the uber-practical ones drive Toyotas.
