I haven't experienced this with any of my 5ers and am not technically minded enough to know what it could be. From a logical perspective, if its down hill, would it not be something to do with "fluids". Other than that, no idea! Sorry

Anyone else have ideas on the issue / able to give advice ??

Hi

As xBMWx writes , it's a fluid related problem , aske the mechanic at BMW to ad 1/4 L extra oil to the gearbox , and i'm sure the problem is solved.

Regards

Hi

I say it again , put on 0.4-0.6 L extra oil on the gearbox ( BMW technician at gun piont if nesecerry ) , and you will see the problem is gone , to change the oil it self dosen't help , still to low level at steep hill's , and beawear the refil of the gearbox oil must be at a gearbox temp. between 35-50 degrees !!! , very important , also afterfil/ top-up is ONLY done by running motor and gearleaver in position N.

Hope you get your problem solved
