So, I'm driving home on my normal route yesterday when I get to the point in my drive where I usually do some heavy passing
around a nice long climbing RH sweeper that spills out to a straight climb when I spy a new 335 ahead and in the right lane. I am pretty sure he saw me coming as when I pulled even, he floored it (sounded great!
). Now I was not quite prepared for that reaction so I was unable to respond.....right away.
I clapped as he gave me a thumbs up and I tucked in behind him as we trucked our way along the single track with pleasantly little traffic in our way. Every time he pressed the go pedal, I was right there with him. I was having a great time. Now we get to a point of the drive that is my favorite - the twisties!! There are precious few times when I get this drive when I have nobody in front of me to hamper my enjoyment of the drive. Now I have a guy in a new 335 who likes the sound of his engine, so I would have thought he would press the loud pedal again and have some fun! Nope. Was VERY dissapointed. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was still in his break-in and find out how the car handles period, but then I noticed his passenger wagging her finger at him!
Now hopefully he wasn't getting the earful that I imagined he was as I passed him with great authority, but I felt for the guy anyway. Such a pretty new car with such a great new engine and he had his governor sitting right there next to him. Bummer!

LOL...
Maybe next time when the governor is not with him.

I could tell he really wanted to go. I feel his pain. Thankfully my SO has a heavy foot as well.
She's trapped in an LR3 right now and hating it! She badly wants the new 335, but no where to put the kid.....thinking a cayenne s maybe. For some reason she does not like the X5
But back to the story.....I just felt so bad for the guy. Anyone here had the opportunity to play with a new 335?
I kept it in third for the majority, not sure where he had his selected. Could have been so much fun!

Here's a thread where a stock 335i went up against hollywoodtrash's 550i and heezy545i's 545i. I was relegated to a spectator that day. Good thing too, I got a "High Emissions" warning problem. Walked U's 335i is no longer stock b/c he now has the Procede software.

Hey Vegas et al
looks like I'll be joining you guys back in sunny SoCal in about 14 months. After this next trip to the sand box, I'm expecting orders back to Camp Pen. Woo Hoo!
Just read the e90 post...sounds like you guys had a blast. Couldn't get the vids, but I deffo need to "adjust" my stock 45 before I think about doing any runs with the likes of y'all!

Good story. My SO passenger has graduated to higher speeds lately and actually encourages it. I'll hear take things like "take that a$$hole!" This is nice and does wonders for the ego. However, any aggressive sharp cornering ends in an earful. Like I'm the a$$hole. So I'm easing into it. Started educating the SO that DTS or disabling traction control is fun and something mandatory for real driving fun. I pretended to just learn this from diligent reference of the owners manual.
That said, the slightest little drift last week got me in fairly hot water. Thus, no luck yet but I'll keep trying. At least I'm flying on the highway. CVT Benhogan
