Plastic Spare Key
#1
Hi guys,
Just bought a pre-owned 535i but was not given the emergency spare key by the dealership. They claim it's useless anyways as it cannot start the car however the car manual says you can with the glove compartment adapter. Also, they claim BMW cannot cut a new one for me. Are they just blowing me off? What happens if you lost your regular key? Does that mean you can't get a replacement (with the integrated/valet key)? Surely they can replace the spare (plastic) key? Anyone with advice?
Thanks

The plastic key WILL start the car (with the adaptor that should be in your glove box), and they are replaceable - not sure whether they are replaceable individually or as part of a complete new set.
