pioneer subs are great... had them on previous cars... but i'm not sure about the shallow ones they make now, but i think the important thing about sound systems are the amps, if you have great subs with crap amps, it makes no difference... you'll still get crap bass... just my 2 cents... enjoy

Do you have the standard EU 6 speaker or the Hi-Fi speaker system (9 speakers and 180 W)?

By only changing the two "subs" you will not get what you're looking (listening) for.

If you are ready to invest some money to the audio system, do it well.

This will not be the Forum to find any answers, 'cause the US cars have the EU Hi-Fi
speakers as standard.

Try the find a German site or a audio site, where they know what they are talking about!

Be sure they understand about the E60 CAN-routing electrical system!

I was waiting for this sub sometime back and could not wait no more, so I went with Earthquake SWS-8 8" sub, and I'm quite happy with it for my daily music listening. The problem with this Pioneer sub is the mounting shape is round where the existing sub mount has rounded square shap. The SWS-8 I used matches exactly the existing sub housing, even the screw hole location . It make my job 10 times easier.
If this has the mounting edge match with our OEM sub, I'd take this in a heart beat. 800W? Boy, prepare to buy a new battery since you have 2 subs underseat and it's 1600 peak.

The SWS-8 here is about $140+8.25% tax. Shipping to Romania is about $40. It's about $190 each. It's everywhere online in the US.
In US, manufacturer does not honor warranty if you buy online. I took a plunge

This is exactly what I warned you about!

2 subs do not give you much, but you have to CHANGE the AMP and the other
4 speakers to get better sound.

Even more, you need also to fit 3 more speakers into your E60 to get the result
you want.

My recommendation is that you FIRST FIND out your nearest PROFESSIONAL audio shop,
which have E60 EXPERIENCE in audio.

For 1000 ? you can get your E60 really rocking...
