I don't think you're a 'complete tosser', in fact you're been really helpful to me with LED related matters, but I personally would not choose to have that plate.

Are you serious when you say it costs more than the car???

If that's true, a real M5 might have been better

ah, the old silent majority!! what good are peoples opinions if they dont speak them! at least you say what you think.
I wasn't giving my opinion. Sure, I think you're a but silly, but I'm not bothered by it.

BTW, why didn't you get a M-sport, rather than a SE. Surely that would be a quicker way to get a M5 lookalike. Did you start out trying to make a lookalike, or just your ego gone horribly wrong

I know it's illegal to have "stupid" number plates. But the DVLA are complicit in all of this, by offering them for sale in the first place.

I say lose the plate and "M" badge, it's the motoring equivalent of wearing an opened neck shirt with a gold medallion.

because I bought second hand - having a car specced just as you want it is one of the few joys of ordering new I think, unless youre extremely lucky to find exactly the spec you're after second hand

Wow, just seen this thread; a few years late, but hey! 4 questions for AlVal:
(1) Do you drive with your fog lights on, even when it is not foggy? I though so.
(2) Do you indicate when changing lanes? I though so.
(3) Do you tell people you drive a "BMW M-Sport". I though so.
(4) Do buy a suit from "Next" and try to convince yourself and others its an ?Oswald Boteing?? Oswald who?

AlVal, you are indeed a clown and are one of these clowns that give us BMW drivers such a bad reputation. I agree with the comments Bangle_Box_530d has made.

How do you feel when a ?real? M5 has gone passed or has just pulled up at the lights? More importantly, how do you think the M5 driver feels? I tell you what, he feels nothing; just a smirk if he has time. I used to have a 911(997) Gen 1 4S and when I used to pull up beside endless smug guy's in Boxster?s who thought they were in a 911, it was so funny as they would immediately look the other way. Even more funny was when I would go to Porsche for a servic; the first thing other customers would tell me was why they went for the Boxster and not the 911. I think you see where this is going!

I await the backlash. By the way, before you ask AlVal, ?why don?t I have a 911(997) 4S anymore and just a 530d?? Well madam it is because I now have a 911 Gen 2 4S in addition to my 530d. AlVal, I leave you with the definition of a ?bastard?; ?A bastard is an illegitimate child, and the word is also used as a derogatory term for an unpleasant person. The term can also mean a mongrel.? (Wikipedia)

Regards

Why aren't you pulling up beside smugs in Boxters with your gen 2 997?
