Just washed and waxed my car last Sunday. Here are a few pictures along with a picture of a dent I made in the right rear of the car:

Now the picture of the rear with the dent I made after backing up in a parking lot. The parking lot was located about 3 feet above street level with a staircase. While trying to straighten my parking I decided to back up a little bit more than usual and I hit the stairway handle.

Anyone know how much I should expect to pay to fix the damages? Part of the rear right tail lamp was cracked along with part of the boot lid.

It will cost more than the park distance control sensor option would have cost you

Seriously though, sorry to hear about your misfortune with your beautiful car. I have no idea how much it would cost but an educated guess would put it at over $2000. Taillight parts/labor plus 2 body panels or perhaps 3 based on the pictures all need bodywork, and then paint. Damn it.

Nice color! How do you like the ML? Ours was a complete POS and we returned it under threat of CA lemon law. Worst reliability I've ever experienced which is a shame because it was a very nicely designed SUV.

Thanks. Heh, the RX330 belongs to my neighbor's visitors; they actually own an X5. By the way the car next to the RX330 is an M3 cab. I guess they are big BMW fans as well

Thanks. Our ML is pretty reliable. No real problems with it thus far. The only "major" problem I had was that, the car wouldn't start after 1 week of no use. We found out that if you turn the MCS module OFF before shutting the car down, it actually drains the battery. Leaving it ON is the proper way.

I never get the PDC option on any car I have bought because I don't normally use it. And even if I did get it, the staircase handle is might have been too thin in width to have been picked up by the sensor. Also with the response time of the PDC, I probably would have hit it anyway .

Consider yourself lucky thus far on the ML and sell it before it costs you a fortune!
