Hey guys.
So my 2004 530i was acting up... every now and then rpm's were jumping like crazy, fuel consumptions was way hi...
In the beginning i thought it might be spark plug problem, so I have changed them, did not do any good. Then i thought about Changing my Fuel Filter, even though i always fuel my car with premium fuel, i had a feeling that the rpm problem was in fuel filter.
So, today, i picked up a fuel filter, payed $225 for it. The job took me about 20 minutes, and boooooy i'm i glad i have made that decision!!!
Car runs muuuch better, no jumpy rpm's. And the old fuel filter looked much like old oil filter...

Now it makes me wander what kind of fuel this car was getting before i became an owner...

Should you change the fuel filter? I think it is worth a shot!

Is there a DIY on how to change the fuel filter? I'm interested in doing this also as I have the RPM fluctuation like you do.

To be honest i wasn't thinking of doing a DIY therefore i haven't taken any other pictures, but i can put DIY from what i remember. It is really not that big of a deal. If you are interested i could write it up.

so the filter is inside the fuel sending unit...inside the tank?
was it easy to drop the tank?
