All,

I just LOVE my 550, and with my Dunlops on ASA rims it looks pretty good and is actually drivable in the SNOW! WAHOO! For anyone trying to decide if they need winter tires on a 550 in the snow, take it from me it is a MUST!

Enjoy,
DaveR

Nice to be sure-footed in winter especially with all that horsepower. But, as a special favor, will you keep most of that snow and just send a sprinkle or two our way this winter!

If I had it to do over again I'd select a rim / wheel with open spokes like that for the winter time. The CSL rep look is so hard to keep clean in the cold weather.

I bought a promotion pack of Eagle One products earlier this year and have to admit this Eagle One Wheel Protector Spray http://www.eagleone.com/pages/produc...=1135&cat=5006 seems to work OK and keeps the brake dust from collecting a bit.

A well-equipped 550 is a blast in the snow, I'll also vouch,

Snow tires + DTC + limited Stab control + butt-heat + foot down =

I;'m just trying to find where the snow is in your pictures

LOVE THE BLIZZARD. BE THE BLIZZARD.

...don't forget heated steering wheel .

As for the snow, well, I just gave it a bath in my garage so you are only seeing the snow that accumulated in the 20 feet I drove it...more to come .

Congrats man the car looks great!
You've done a right choice by going for winter tyres!

Nice rims, too. Look a lot like 124s.

Are those dedicated winter rims or did you swap over from your summer tires on the same rims?

Dedicated rims and tires - yep. No TPMs but I don't mind the light on the dash. I will say this - I have a floor jack and air tools and I actually used the jack that comes with the car. I didn't have a puck and it worked very well. I was hoping not to need winter tires, but when I purchased the car in late February and drove it on snow I knew it was only time before I was in the ditch.

Regards,
DaveR

I totally agree with the benefits of snow tires.I purchased my car a few days before Xmas and had the snow tires and rims shipped up from Tireack the first week of Janaury.Bring on the snow,no problem with traction and xDrive
