Today I noticed little eye on the rear view mirror. It was actually on the mirror not the piece on the glass. Then I got to noticing more on the piece against the mirror. I hope one of you may have the answers.
1. ?
2. I believe is the rain sensor
3.
4. Just a vent for heat of electrical components maybe?
Thanks guys,
Kris

1) is for the automatic dimming of the rear view mirror. It measures on this sensor and on the one you can see when looking at it from the other side (the correct side ).
2) I'm pretty sure it's the sensor for the automatic lights.
3) I think this is the rainsensor, since it's bigger/wider than 2, and it's harder to detect rain, than to detect the sunlight.
4) I guess you're right. It looks like a vent for the heat of the electrical components.

I read on another board that the black piece sticking up on the dash is sensor for direct sunlight. If there is direct sunlight, the computer will adjust the AC to keep up w/ the greater heating of the sunlight. Now I don't know if that's true, but it sure sounded good to me.

thx browellm. And having a US spec car, where Advanced AC is the norm, would I be correct in assuming that this sensor might be missing for those in Europe without Advanced AC?

Is it just me, or do others find it incredibly cool, that here it is, months after production began, and we are still finding out what things are on our cars...
Cool factor just keeps rising! or is that Geek factor....
