Car looks great.
Just a word of caution to all those doing the wedding theme on their E60's...

I once did the wedding and ribbon thing for a friend using my 325i Orient Blue.

When I took the ribbons off the following day, I noticed that at the contact points between the ribbon and the paintwork (on the hood/bonnet and on the pillars) the clear coat had actualy been scratched from all the buffetting of the ribbons agaist the body of the car. I had to get BMW to use cuting compound to remove the scratches. The only way to explain these fine scratches is that they were like ultra fine swirl marks and caused a hazy effect on the paint. Bear in mind that I had to do some highway driving (around 25km's) at around 110km/hr.

When I drove another friend to his wedding using my E39, I put black insulation tape on the body, where the ribbon would have made contact with the body. No problems that time

Friends of mine asked me to do the honours of bringing them to the church. Having looked at pictures of wedding car web-sites, I have to say I didn't find too many black cars on 19s with sport packs Anyway, found a few ideas to make mine look like a wedding car and not too mean The most important part however, was that the minature-champaign bottles fitted perfectly into the rear armrest cup-holders and put a big smile on the happy couples face ...job done!

Here are the pics I took of my ride in the car park-

Is there a tradition of dragging empty cans and putting a "just married" sign on the back of the car?

Another one, 2003 530i.

The weather wasn't ideal with wind and rain on and off.

As another poster pointed out, the ribbon did cause some scratches on the bonnet (I Haven't checked the pillar yet). I actually waxed the area underneath the ribbon but still some scratches. However afterwards I washed and use Meguiar's Paint Cleaner to get rid off the scratches. I thin it's all ok now.

Showed my mate you pics and he was well impressed

I will try the ribbon for size next weekend (1 week before wedding) as a dry run

cheers for the tips

A good idea to do trial run first, I put ribbon on my car to take my mate to his wedding, (I was the best man). Despite being very careful, I ended up getting some grease on the ribbon from the bonnet catch, and had to race out to buy some more on the morning of the wedding... nightmare!

Still he appreciated the effort and made his arrival at the church a little more of a celebration!

Congrats to 5slices on your engagement.

Congrats xBMWx, hope you get good weather

Mine could be the shortest engagement in history as she is doing my head in about the wedding already
