To take off the badge is very easy, just warm up with a hairdryer to soften up the glue and the badges will just peel off, might need a little gentle persuasion with a credit card to leaver off!
You could then sell the badges on ebay to an M5 owner!!
My 520 comes in 3 weeks can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

I had my rear plugs replaced with cigarette lighters just because I thought they looked better. Delaer paid so I really didn't care.

The dealer would use a heat-gun to remove the model inscription. Its like an extra hot hair dryer. You can also use a hair dryer, but it will take a bit longer to get off.
Remember not to hold it over the area for too long as you may peel the paint.

Erm, sorry, peel is wrong word. And yes, because your applying the heat directly to one area of the paint, the concentrated heat is hotter than the oven.
Anyway, if you held a very hot heat gun close to the paintwork on your car, it would damage it.

I hope this is wrong!
My decision whether to go for the non smokers pack was discussed on another forum and with my dealer. I was told that the power socket is still useable. I can't understand why they would bother installing the power socket and then not wirie it up.
Does anyone have experience of this matter?

Still - should be an easy fix. Interestingly, my two rear sockets came with blank plugs - not lighters.
Enjoy the car !

Had mine for 2 weeks now and it's just about to be "run in". These are great cars

Well I managed to wash the car for the first time yesterday, but only mnanaged to get a snap with my camera-phone before it rained again
First long trip yesterday (Bedford to Manchester and back) and averaged 50.4mpg (cruising on the m-way at 75-80mph) - very impressed!
Anyway, low res nasty photo attached, proper ones to follow asap.
