So excited. I just took delivery of my car (it had an amazingly low miles; 3). It's a Titanium Grey 545i with Premium Sound, Sport, and Cold Weather packages... with Navigation and the 6-sp automatic.

Because of this forum I had requested v16.2 of the CIP to be installed, and they said they'd oblige. It turns out mine came from the factory with 16.2 installed. The "Perspective" view (as it's called) is great. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to get some road name labels in this view. I've tried zooming in and out, but it still doesn't add road names until u switch to a different view mode.

I haven't yet tried the MP3 thing, but it looks like I have to wait until September for that capability.

I have a palmOne Treo 650 PDA/phone from Cingular Wireless, and it paired with absolutely no problem... can dial out, receive calls, even have my contacts that are programmed in the speed buttons.

I used the Valentine One mount of a poster here (forget his name) who just ran the wire in the pillars and hooked it to the passenger foot well outlet.. this works great.. looks just as concealed as a hardwire.. and turns on/off with the car. So, I'm glad I didn't have to do anything electrical.

My only gripe is trying to adhere to the break-in rules. I really want to go over 4000rpm (I got a 545 for a reason), but I've been trying. Maybe I should take it out of SD mode and just put it in regular Drive mode for the break-in.

Lastly, I got my car from Competition BMW of Smithtown. Great service, great salesman... I can give my salesman reference to anyone who asks.

Now back out to driving!

Congratualtions. I have the same color.
In NAV, I leave the main window with a map and in the right assist window set it to 'arrow display'. 'Arrow display' provides accurate distances to your next turn or exit, street names and when you get close even a countdown bar. The combination of these two windows makes city navigation a cinch.

On long drives I leave the assist window with onboard info or trip computer so I can see miles to destination etc. Then when you exit just switch it to arrow display and switch the map to direction of travel or perspective.

why does everyone insist on pics? We know what the car looks like. We know all the colors and interior combinations. Its like there will be some amazing revelation that no one knows about by seeing pics. Post pics if you have something unique ie: BMW individual, or a special add on
