ornament is too busy driving his car now....
Yes, this is BMW of Fremont!
I just picked up my 545i in Munich. I had a blast on the Autobahn. I did not keep it under 3K RPM. But I did keep it under the recommended 4500 RPM. I'll post some pictures later.

Happy for you, ornament. Enjoy. I still get a thrill and pride when driving or looking at it.

Nice ride.? I wish I had some better weather around here!?
I think your break-in rev limit of 3K is way too restrictive.? Did some source recommend this limit or did you come up with it yourself?

Step1: rev limit of 3krpm ~300 miles
Step2: ~3.5k~600mls, Step3:~4k~900mls.....Step8:~6.5k~2400mls
Step9: keep always more than 3krpm~ for additional 200mls, total 2400mls
You will get an 'ultimate engine' around step 9 with extremely smooth climbing up to the rev limit. The gas milaege will also be better after 6krpm. The key is to hit the gas frequently up to certain rev limit step by step.
This is the story I found in the article somewhere. I know this method is too restrictive, but it is very persuasive for me. It is up to you either believe or not, but I want to try it. I just finished one tank, so next is ~3.5krpm !

[/quote]How is this going for you? I'm picking up my ride this week, and want to break the engine in properly but was curious on your experience with this so far.
