I picked up my 2010 550 that was a replacement for the 2008 550 that was giving me so many problems.

BMW finally stood behind their product and offered trade-in assist to get me out of the 2008 and into the 2010.
Very happy with the new one - really like the M Sport package - mostly cosmetic upgrades for the 550 - M steering wheel, shifter, door sill plates, foot rest. The wheel are the same as the 2008 whcih I was glad to see. Not sure if the suspension is different - I have heard conflicting reports that the 2008 sport suspension is the same as the 2010 M sport suspension.
The new iDrive is great - so much faster responding to clicks and the graphics are huge upgrade. Is it easier? Hard to tell - so used to the old one the new one seems a little harder but I figure it will take some time to get used to it.
Just washed it tonight - it was raining the day I picked it up so it got really dirty on the way home - which always sucks.
I will take some pics tomorrow and post.

Congrats! I agree that idrive is much much faster with commands and prompts. To me it seems easier to use this idrive than the previous, the commands are more straight forward and especially with the shortcut buttons near the idrive knob makes it even more easier to use.
