Glad the F10 didn't go the Lexus way of shrouding the entire contents of the engine compartment under a big panel of black plastic. Maybe it's just me, but I like to sometimes see what exactly is under the hood, so I know it's not a giant caged wheel full of running hampsters.

sad to say it, but imho this magazine is certainly not the benchmark in the BMW enthusiast press. being a reader of the few UK BMW mags, this one leaves a very bland aftertaste - nothing more than badly disguised advertising from BMW AG and the odd aftermarket firm, and not well written anyways. full of paid features (even the reader letters are quite obviously fabricated), and the staff is not eveny trying properly to make it exciting. the only interesting part are the staff car reports, probably because they cannot fudge what's broken down and how it was fixed. I also have had unsatisfactory experience in communication with them, with my emails never answered and stuff like that.

my point being, the unability to get an E34 and E12 in there speaks VOLUMES about this mag's standing with the enthusiast scene

I still hope its a nice article, for the people who will spend money on the mag...
For your information mate! the e34 had broken down prior to coming and there was not a suitable e12 available on the day, i have never seen the mag before so i can`t comment but i guess you do not like them very much, i don`t get much opportunity to get involved in this sort of thing so when i was asked i jumped at the chance, it never ceases to amaze me how there's always one person who tries to spoil some one elses happiness or good fortune. I posted the photos because i thought ppl here would be interested to see them.

Dood i took it for a drive, while the engine isn`t as spirited as mine, the ride comfort was amazing. The new idrive is well smart.

I like the pics a lot and I appreciate it very much that you posted them here - that's the stuff that forums live from, so thumbs up on that.

I just had to let it off re: the magazine, as I got fed up feeling ripped off every so often when i bought it, and compared to the real enthusiast platforms, like this forum for example, it's just so bad.. And on top of everything they charge money for something full of adverts.

Anyways, these pics just remind me once again that the 5 series is a real classic, no matter which generation! I just want to own them all lol
