I know I should RTFM but I notice a phone icon in the bottom of the screen that wasnt there before. My bluetooth phone also is not working.
Can someone give me the quick and dirty answer. No flames please

The phone icon displays on mine when I have a missed call.

My Ride: 2006 550i Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Premium Sound Package, Comfort Access, Xenon Headlights, Adaptive Headlight Control, Navigation System, Steptronic Transmission. Silver Gray Metallic with Gray Leather. Added Red rear reflectors. Swapped stock Style 124 wheels and Bridgestone run-flat tires for BMW Style 125 5-Double Spoke wheels, 8" x 19" front, 9.5" x 19" rear with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, 245/40YR-19 front and 275/30YR-19 rear.
Mine used to display a triangle most of the time indicating I was "roaming", I think. Now I get a cell phone icon whenever I have my Bluetooth phone connected along with various bars for signal strength. I can't say for sure whether the phone icon appeared after a CIP upgrade or what it might be related to. I like it.

As was confirmed in another thread (I went and checked it out!!) it definitely refers to calls missed during handset bluetooth connection with the e60.
The icon can be cleared simply by clearing the missed calls list in your iDrive menu.
