Sorry, didnt know where else to post this.

when my e60 is locked, the petrol/gas fuel shut can still be pushed in to open. I am assuming it SHOULD also lock as my ML does it and my old Bora did it.
Can someone please confirm this ?
And if its malfunctioning, anyone know a good guide to repair it ?

thanks!

The gas refuel door should be locked when your car is locked. If it is not locking you should take it to your dealer and have it checked out.

Thanks for confirming that.
I'd rather fix it myself if there are any guides out there ? Motors not under warranty any more and the bmw dealers here in the uk SUCK !!! (not to mention they charge an arm and a leg)

thanks again

number 7 seems to be the culprit but might just be a fuse ? Anyone ?

The fuel filler door is locked only when the central-locking drives have been activated for ?Arm? (double-lock) mode. The ?Arm? mode is only engaged if the ignition is switched off AND after switching off the ignition the driver's or passenger's door have been opened and closed.
If you done this and its still not locked - according to WDS that actuator is connected directly to base body module, which is protected by fuses F22 and F24, however it also controls locking of rear doors, etc so I would think fuses are OK. Then the problem may be this actuator itself.

Try pulling the emergency fuel door release in the trunk to see if it's stuck open. There is a pin which controls locking and unlocking. My pin was frozen shut till I pulled the release.

It's behind panel where the battery sits I think. It's in the owners manual.
