once my mate's wife put some diesel in their petrol car it was not his BMW lucky them, but a VW so the trailer came and they cleaned the tank
( ohh yess and of course she started the engine
I call this a change.
I came from petrol never had a diesel before, nor BMW
now I am amazed still about the enourmous torque so I doubt but the 550i wud be nice to listen to and also to give petrol

Did testdrive the 530dA.
If I would drive anymore than I do (about 12 000 km / year)
I would go for the 530dA at once.
I just love the torgue and power of that engine!

I have just bought my first diesel ever, and I?m not overwhelmed, I really miss my E39 M5 and 540's, but the E61 is a magnificent station wagon, and I really need that space.

After 3 Evo's a subaru, WRX STI and various Cosworths over the lat 15 years I made the jump to diesel and I am very happy with the performance, okay it will not compete with these cars on a twisty road but I am compensated with the comfort and gadgets.
Well this is my first 5 series - but I have had 5 petrol 3 series and 2 diesel ones.
I got the diesels (320cd's) initially to beat company car tax and realised that they were actually a performance choice over the 2.0 litre petrol (then 318ci)
On that basis a diesel was always a serious option for my e60 - even though I am now 'opted out' of company car schemes.
Personally I just couldn't justify paying more per mile for no discernable performance benefit.
However, I am tempted to get a 530i next time just cause I haven't ever owned a 3 litre petrol car.
