Petrol consumption comparision
#1
Hi Guys,
been spending some time doing some analysis on petrol consumptions (yes I have better things to do . Basically, the route that I drove is about 10 miles of city driving, with an average speed of 21 mph over a period of about 30 mins.
Here the test results:
318d (122ps) 2007: 6,1l/100km or 46 mpg (imperial)
golf 105ps dsg: 6,8 l/100km or 41 mpg (imp)
520d Automatik (177ps) 2008: 7,2 l/100km or 39 mpg (imp)
520d Manual (163ps): 7,4 l/100km or 38 mpg (imp)
golf 122ps tsi manual: 7,8l/100km or 36 mpg
535dT 2006: 12,5l/100km or 23 mpg
The 520d automatic was a brand new car with 2km on it - so the petrol consumption should be by 5-8% less once it has done some mileage. From the entire lot, I was impressed by the 520dA most. The automatic was amazing for that car, the consumption as well. to have a petrol consumption in the 40s for such a hugh car, automatic and 177hp - not bad, BMW
greetings...

tnx guys for the input.
it is interesting to see how quickly the bmws are moving their consumption towards economical cars such as the golf (seen as one of the economical cars here in this part of the world) - pretty impressive!
