Its happened on all BMWs I've seen, and the dealer won't replace it for you. Just have to live with it.

Was your car manufactured before or after the improved soft paint was implemented? See pic below.

Yep, common problem here in the Philippines. I had my window switch cover replaced already.

My car was built 09/2004. Are you implying that they have corrected a soft paint problem? If so, that would imply that there is some sort of warranty coverage, correct?

Bearing in mind that this occurs most in warmer climates, are you guys suncream users?. I've read that it is
pretty aggressive stuff & does damage paint & plastics etc. If you have it on your hands & touch paintwork, it will mark it, if left. Just a suggestion, not much of a problem here!

Yup had it too on my previous 05 530, I also had a fluid type air freshener that had a belt clip designed to clip on to one of the air vents...long story short I turned it up side down one day and forgot it over night and the next morning the whole freekin dash was bubbled like it was toasted...I almost died! But even before I had peeling by AC vents and window controls! I have a 07 530 sport for about 3 months and now problem yet!
