This is getting to my nerve. Is it just my car or is this defaut?

When I reverse the car, the PDC is activated (with image and audio warning) and the beeping sound remains even after I have disengaged R and put the gear to N or P. I have to manually depress the PDC button to deactivate the PDC. Urghhhhhh!!!!

What can be done to get rid of the PDC warning automatically after the gear is shifted to N?

keep on whining until you hit a damn thing at or lower than bumper-level

yes you can turn the engine off then pdc is off, but why not just turn it off it is 1 sec you press 1 button

I think there is a menu in Idrive that you can adjust the PDC.

Good luck, it is not the best.... Lexus draws you the line where you should arrive if you park it...

You can disable the screen using your iDrive or whatever. You can't do anything about the sound except push the button. When I get in my car, I push the PDC button first, click agree, pull back on my joystick to get to my last entertainement screen, push and hold DTC to eliminate DSC and DTC (unless wet out or going on a highspeed road), and put on my seatbelt. I have lots of stuff to defeat before rolling. When the PDC comes back on after getting out an about, I let it scream; I want the warning to sound in unfamilar circumstances; it is so easy to make an unthinking mistake.

I just wish PDC were more accurate...or can it be adjusted by the dealer? I have a tight fit in my garage so when I pull in and start getting close to where I need to finally park, the Red and continuous warning lights and sounds go off yet I'm still a good 8-10" away from where I really need to be. I wish the a digital read out would also pop up for obsticles directly in front and behind and would be accurate to the last inch.

I agree, and I wish it would let me know how far I am from curbs.

My experience with PDC is great, when is red with continuous beeping it mean stop and when I go down and check I am like 2-3 inches away from the obstacle. When it red but not continuous beeping obstacle is 8-10 inches away.

No one can be satisfied. Just be glad you have something to warning you so that you don't run over some kid's bike, scratch your car, and worst over some kid. It's take little effort to move your right hand from the shifter and press the "PDC" button. Really, it's about 6 inches from the shifter.

Or simply drive for 50 mt or drive at more than 30 Kmh and it will be deactivated.

B32, do you know a way to not have to use that annoying shifter? I've got to go forward sometimes. And, I am satisfied. Well, OK, I'd like at least 450 HP. Does my want qualify as dissatisfaction?
