Pay your parking TICKETS
#12
Had my company truck towed in front of my house. Had a bunch of unpaid tickets for the commercial truck. My boss was going to fight all of them but had no time. Walked out my house and it was gone.
Boss was out of town and I couldn't get it because it wasn't registered to me. So his wife had to come down all the way from Bear Mtn. to the city to meet me and my brother. I stayed in the city to work while my brother went with her to Brooklyn to pick the car up.
Fucked up thing was I had the keys to the truck. After they paid the tickets and fees, they couldn't pick up the truck.
She had to drive my brother back to the city and drop him off. She went back home while we had to go back to the impound lot and pick it up.
Spent all day picking up the truck.

Yeah city parking tickets are a hassle. Now school parking tickets are different, I had a ticket from an University a while back, never paid bc I was actually in the process of getting my tag changed. lol

Most interesting part of this topic is the general acceptance by those that live in NY of these tickets.....
Looks like a car tax to me as they will get you sooner or later and it appears they add up to some pretty big numbers.

My Ride: A Car
i pay my tickets ASAP. What's not fair is that the feds still take your car if you owe $200!! Does that mean if they sell your car for $20,000, you get $19,800 back minus their auction fees? It's kinda ridiculous. THey should seize the car only when it reaches 50% of the car's retail value. They can keep charging you interest and late fees but for a few hundred bucks? Come on!
