My Ride: 2006 550i - Metallic Mystic Blue, Sport Package, STEPTRONIC Auto Transmission, Leather Interior, Power Front Seats w/Lumbar Support, Xeonon Head Lights (Angel Eyes), Park Distance Control (PDC), 6-CD Changer, Adaptive Head Light, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Professional Radio, Premium Sound Package 13-Speakers Logic 7, Weather Band Radio, Voice Control (for Bluetooth Telephone Operatoin), 18" Run Flats, Rain-Sensing Wipers, Front/Rear Heated Seats, Flat Tire Monitor (FTM), Moonroof, Fold Down Rear Seats, Hardwired Valentine One
Default

Anybody have any info on how to repair the thigh support?

The electric motor is working as I can hear it but the it doesn't engage the thigh support. I can manually move it fwd and aft and out and there's no resistance. So, I'm assuming that the motor is off the track or the gear is stripped.

We're still trying to conceptualize the fat chick who caused such a rare fault!

Now that's funny!!!

I'm really the only person who rides in the car, as I don't allow "any" passengers as it weighs down the car and degrades the performance just a bit....

Truthfully, it was working just recently as I opened/closed it to clean out that area and just can't recall what really happened... plus, it is true that I rarely have any passengers but not to the extent that I jested-about above...

I had the same issue about a month ago. Luckily I'm still under warranty so I took it to the dealer and they replaced the motor and the gear wheel in the thigh support part. they said something about the gear problem and that caused the motor to go bad. One day at the dealer and fixed under warranty.
That's all I can tell you.
