Default Passenger Side Mirror does not work on reverse gear,

I have this 2004 BMW 545i and whenever I put on the reverse gear it is supposedly the mirror have to go down but it is off and on situation it is working at its own will. Please anyone tell me what is wrong and what I have to do. Thank you.

You have to switch the mirror adjustment switch to the right or left to activate and deactivate this feature. Just an FYI in case you weren't aware.

The switch is on your drivers door. The automatic curb monitor switch is right below the round mirror adjustment switch.

On my 2004 M54 E60 AU version the side mirror won't tilt Auto DIP. Searched a bit and found the option that needs to be in the VO is $430. I added the $430 to both CAS and LMA module on my E60, but the external side mirrors still do not AUTO DIP (I tried with the side mirror switch on either side i.e. driver and passenger). What am I missing to get the external side mirrors to AUTO DIP?

I despise this interference by the passengers side mirror.

Did you look up your vin? It very well maybe hardware also needed. Autodip is listed in my vin twice. You can also have a look over at realoem see if they list more than one passenger side mirror, if they do I would say it is also a hardware change.

On my car it is defeated by keeping the adjustment selector slide button to the right.

+1, on my car the side mirror switch on the door must be to the left (driver side) for Autodip to function.

same here. if your adjustment switch is on the right mirror than it won't dip. handy for when you are dealing with parking in a lot and not next to a curb.
