Hi, this evening when im about to go out with my gf. she was sitting in the care and when i start the car, the idrive shows that my passenger restraint system is not function can effect the passenger side air bag.

should i just unplug the battery and put it back or... get car computer reader to delete the problem... or go to the stealer...

i tried searching through the forum but... not much result..

if you have any idea what i should do... any comment are appreciated , have some one came through this issue before?

Thanks...

There is a recall on the seat sensor for many e60's. The dealer should be able to verify.

I just had mine fixed through the recall a few weeks ago. However, I thin the recall is only being applied to certain build dates.

That's why the OP should verify with the dealer.

I think there are a quite a few of us on here with the same problem. I had mine replace d under recall, a while back. Called bmwna a wk ago about a diff recall for pass rst. They were not aware of any recalls. Of course mine is back on.

Mine is 05 and had the same problem prior to the recall. I paid around $1500 to fix it 'cause mine is over 50k miles. After I received the note from BMW in Dec 2008, I contacted BMWNA and they told me to go to the dealer for a refund. In the note, BMW also said this warranty is good for 10 years with unlimited mileage. I did get my refund from the dealer..

Got this problem a few months ago. If you can clear the error code, and it doesn't come back straight away, meaning it's intermittent, 9 times out of 10 it'll be your battery cable. Or at least, that's what my mechanic told me. After a code clear, and the error coming back a week later, a batter cable swap and it's been fine for months /shrug\

It's an option if the rest of it checks out.
