Passenger restraint problem
The passenger restarint failure light came on a week ago, i made the appointment and took it to the dealer. They said theres nothing wrong and that my amp that i have hooked up to my sws-8x's has caused to go low voltage which made the alert pop up. i told them to clear the fault and the SA said that they tried and it keeps coming back. Whats the solution??

We just mentioned this in another new thread, I am still trying to find it but there IS a service bulletin for the passenger airbag in 04-06 models, either make them check for it or go to another dealer. I had mine checked last time I was at the dealer.

Does anyone know if i disconnect the battery, will it take away the passenger restraint failure?
Well the dealer is lazy and did not want to touch your amp. Since you have an aftermarket part which is attached to the electrical system, they will blame that. If it was a Dinan amp (haha i know they don't make audio amps) they would solve the problem. Why don't you unhook the amp, bring it to the dealer and have them clear the code and see if it comes back. if it comes back with no amp attached then the amp is causing the problem or vise verse.
I have a 2004 525i e60. I've have the same problem almost since I've purchased the car in 2005. I went to the dealer and they fixed (or at least they told me they did) and 3 years later (sure, after the warranty expires) i have the same problem. I went to the dealer again here in Miami by Biscayne and they told me I had to pay over 1,500.00 to have it fixed. Frustrated, I went to South motors as well. The same joke. They gave me an estimated with wrong part numbers! By the parts numbers on my estimated, I would only need to replace the leather of the seats! I went online to find out what is wrong and I went to the BMW north America web site. They have a recall for over 200,000 vehicles from 2004 and up. BUT, MINE WAS NOT ON THE LIST! SURE! I called them up and they say they were going to try to help me, but there's not much they can do about it. They suppose to call me between tomorrow or Wed to let me know what it the best choice.
