Passenger restraint error... info overload... need clarification!
I know this topic has been discussed in length but I look at all the threads and it makes my head spin! Can we get one thread (like this one) with step by step and with increased complexity/cost to get rid of the stupid message?
In my case; my car's mat was replaced in 2009 (my car is a 2004 545) and I have also added a 2 ohm/5% resister to the wire connection heading to/from the positive terminal of the battery as recommended from others in this forum. Clear the codes and within a day or so... message comes back.
I have seen mat bypass emulators sold on ebay... like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151133365131?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Don't see any sold in the USA only UK and Europe. Wonder why that is?
Is the emulator a viable and inexpensive option or is the next step to replace the positive cable?

Before adding the 2 ohm resistor:
SIM/SGM: 93DA and 93B0
After installing the 2 ohm resistor:
SIM/SGM: 93CC, 93CD, 93DA and 93B0

Coding procedure will only help if you passenger seat mat is giving codes. you have no passenger seat codes.
Fault: Drivers side upfront left measurement fault
Code: 93DA
Fault: Drivers side left curtain timeout
Code: 93B0
looks like an issue with your left curtain airbag and not the seat mat.

Also; where is the best place to look up these codes and what they mean?

The positive battery cable in the trunk is a frequent and expensive cause of restraint system malfunctions (though it appears to not be the problem in this case). It's a simple repair replacing the cable, but it's about a $300 part.

I have no experience with BMW airbag systems yet except the passenger seat mat. You cant clear them if the error is still there. Solve the problem then clear. what exactly the problem is i have no idea. I just googled your codes and that gave my some answers.

What modules do they correlate to are where would I find them?
