Has anyone experienced this? Sometimes my "passenger airbag off" light is on even when my wife is riding with me. I mean, she is slim and light, but not that light! The thing that worries me is that sometimes it works fine, but today was the third time I noticed that the light was on when she was in the seat. Anyone knows anythign about this? THanks!

Hi

I noticed this sometimes when my wife sits in the seat. It usually comes on if she is sitting with her legs folded to the side (basically when she's not properly sitting with both feet on the floor). I also noticed the other day that it came on and then went off shortly after we drove off. BUT yes, I too would like to know if this is a problem...

Hi Tex and 2004...:

I'd check it out with a dealer. For me that situation occurs, as you suggest, only when I have something light-ish (e.g., my book bag) in the passenger's seat.

My light also goes on if the passenger has something up against the dashboard, like a briefcase on his lap. I bet if a person sits too close, it also turns on the light/turns off the airbag.

It's too late for you, but for others I wouldn't take my car in for this problem until the part is readily available. It sounds like the dealer would not release the car until fixed. It this interpretation correct?

TexaZ3, I have the same problem, in fact I just noticed it this weekend with my wife in the car. Likewise, she's in great shape, but she's not that light.

Next time I bring her in (that car, that is), I'll have them look at it.
