Just got my car back from dealer where I took it for the Passanger side airbag light recall (can not recall the details of the recall letter ) and they have performed CODING OF THE R/F OC3 MAT PER THE SIB 65 25 07. 00 57 560 (verbatim from the invoice I received!)

Does this mean that they have installed the latest CIP version? If so I am going to buy and install the IPOD retrofit.

My car is '04 530I NO NAV and with CD CHANGER and from what I have been investigating here in these forums that with the latest CIP upgrade I can install the IPOD retrofit and start using my IPOD/IPHONE in my car . I understand that I will not have the 6 DC changer but who keeps changing those CDs anyway?

Thanks for your help and comments.

How long did it take for the airbag update? It might not give you the iPod update. I am just about to set up an appointment for the same update, but my iPod update took 2 days! You should check with the dealer...

I dropped it off early in the morning at 7 AM and pick-up the car at 3PM in the afternoon. Like I said I am not sure if they do a complete CIP upgrade but I am hoping someone will be able to tell me that from this forum. I will also call my service advisor.

I also had the same thing done and it took 2 days before I got my car back, it taking 2 days doesn't mean it actually took that long to program, other cars might have been waiting to get the upgrade also and I had to wait my turn. I got progmam 27.21 Good luck
cheers
