I love to have my angel eyes on during the day or into the evening... but since im forgetfull, i sometimes forget to turn them off... i guess im too used to auto or vehicles with auto where u dont have to touch the lights thing ever... so question... is there a way angel eyes can go off automatically, when the car is locked or something... ?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, switch on DRL in the 'i'-menu in iDrive and have the lights switch swithed off.

There's really not a way to do what you want (assuming your car is not LCI). Unfortunately, the parking lights are considered a critical electrical consumer so they won't be shut down by the car ever -- only a dead battery can shut them down...

Do you know if it's legal in Sweden, now with the new brighter LCI Angel Eyes, to use them as daylights?

That's what I been told overhere.

To taimoor,

No, they need to be on if needed (for emergency reasons etc).

The chime warns you, though.

I just keep the light switch all the way to the left. I never have to switch any lights on or off.

During the (bright) day, the angel eyes are on. When I go through a tunnel or it gets dark, the lights just come on automatically.

I'm quite sure, they now are much brighter. And also the dealer set this setting to be default (lights switch in 'auto' and DRL on). Actually I tested the during night, and the were quite good.

Nope, a pre-LCI must still have dipped beam. The angel eyes are regarded as parking lights on those models.

Hi,

I think my LCI lights work differently, in that the atuo lights have the main headlights on (as does DRL). To get angel eyes only, I have to turn the switch to the right one click, what I would call sidelights I suppose.

Is that the same as everyone elses??

Same here. On a '07 LCI 520D, DRL activated and light switch in Auto position means dipped beams lit when engine running.
