Parking light failure (not the bulb) E60 pre-lci
Hi,
I one of my angel eyes doesn't work and I have a parking light failure error. The headlights are xenons and everything works except for one parking light. I checked the bulb which was good but i saw that the wire insulation was crumbling(only the angel eyes bulb wires). I repaired them but nothing changed. I started checking the wire harness for power and as i was expecting the wire for the engel eyes did not have any voltage. I also checked the wire harness for any shorted cables but i didn't find anything. What could it be? Broken lighting module? but every other light works.

You may have to check the headlight assy wiring more thoroughly. I thought I had taken care of my exposed wires but still had a parking light failure notification on the iDrive. I then removed the yawing motor and pulled the harness from underneath the clips, and I had a lot more exposed wires. I fixed them all, and then all was well.

Do as Donpb suggest. If it has been going on for a while you may need to reset the short counter to get it back working. Don't think about that until you are 100% sure the wiring and bulb is good
