miss525i - good to see that nothing car-wise has been dented other than your pride!

I have a couple of old tires I stand against the wall in front of my E60 in the garage. Works well. Protects the car and the wall.
In the UK our garages are generally too small - a new build would be around 16' long (8' or 16' wide depending whether double or single garage ) I probably have around 8'' spare length therefore parking needs to be "fairly" accurate! At these short distances the PDC is useless - it just makes a continuous sound because there's not enough space even at the side corners of the vehicle. It's a case of turn it off and park using teh visual aids I was born with I've actually found that with the headlights turned on, the pattern made on the wall enables me to judge my distance quite effectively - I have however positioned a wooden board against the wall because the stopping distance has sometimes been around 1/4" :'( Wood is softer than brick!!!! It would probably be most cost effective and an advantage for next time (!!!) to repair the damage with a large piece of wooden board!!!

the best protection is an old headboard you know you can bang off it without any trouble (provided its your own)
You can't say that on an open forum

OK guys, I have to admit, Park Distance Control would have helped
I thought that the stop light would serve the purpose. boy, was I wrong...
the questions is who's fault is it me not getting the Park Distance Control option or the stupid license plate???

BB I hope your OK, watch out or do you have a mirror on that wall??

ok it was of course the damn licence plate wasn't it.

Seriously speaking I bought the PDC and never ever will regret it, I reverse in w the mirrors, but still I use the PDC to make sure... That is true that btw 30cm-40cm (10") the PDC goes in sound alarm and red light but you still may go like 3-4" w/o hitting anything, and the accustic is quite ok, as it is from the directon of the obstacle.

it is a gem what we all drive, keep it safe!

Inflatable raft at the front of the garage - cheap and easy and no damage - just lots of blowing to get it inflated.

Bad luck miss525i.....

Here's a quote for you to consider........?Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.? Coco Chanel

Wall looks more damaged than the car.

My 545i parks in a very tight garage space. I have a yellow, long-rectangular bumper thing to protect the door on the wall. And, I use one of the several types stops on the floor. I like stops because then I have to pay close attention when I am parking. If I miss them, then I realize it, back up, and go at it again. The only bad thing about stops is that they wll slide forward unless stuck down. I never bother to stick them down--just move them back occasionally. Happy garage repairs.
