I was in talking to the sales manager at my local dealer today about lease rates for a new 550i and I asked him to double check whether I could special order the 550i in Indianapolis Red. He made several calls before confirming that he was not able to get it done. He was told its an "M5 only" color.
A real bummer.
Looks like Alpine White for me.......

I think the E60 looks pretty good in white..... however here in the UK, its VERY RARE to see ANY BMW in white....... I havnt seen a single E60 in white........
I asked my dealer if he had ever sold a white one, he said no....
My last but 1 car, a 320d touring, I was informed by the guy dropping the car off on delivery to my place of work that he had only delivered one other in red in the last 18 months. As the 'solid' no extra cost colours in the UK are white, red, black, that makes black virtually the only cost saving colour in town....
Seems that market demand varies wildly country to country.... like the UK not seeing leatherette as fit for an upmarket car.
Still, white with a black interior might have been nice..... dunno what dash trim I would have chosen tho...
