Can one order special paint colors from BMW, similar to Porsche, for an upcharge?

This is possible with BMW Individual.
They make every color you want.
BUT: It seems to be almost impossible to find a dealer in the USA who orders Individual, since it is not officially available thru BMW NA and the dealer needs to put in some real effort.

in the UK brochure, no std colours or trims are 'not allowed' - you can have any horrrendous mix you like (such as the blue with a brown interior some like - but not me) - they do however have 'reccommended' combinations....... are you sure the brochure actually says 'not allowed' and not just those that are not reccommended - if you see what i mean!
If you have a custom colour and are in an accident, wont that be very hard to find a match for?
