Default To paint or Not to paint!?

Alright guys, I'm in a dilemma here... my 08 535xi is in the shop getting the m5tech bumper and side skirts painted and put on. My car is Monaco Blue.

I also have the m5tech front lip, it's currently in black. Do you think I should get the lip painted to match the bumper or leave it black so it will match the black kidney grills, lower bumper grills and etc?

I would paint it. Since it is an aftermarket part you have nothing to loose. Chip rocks would just as visible on Monaco Blue as they are on Black.

Some colors look nice with a painted lip to match the car while other colors look nice black. I think with the blue I would paint it to match the car. At least if you don't like it, you can always spray it black afterwards. The cost to paint just the lip later would likely cost you more as well. You will probably be touching it up a lot anyway due to road and curb rash as it will take a little getting used to having this on the front of your car. The lip looks very nice, but it's just not practical for a car that has sport suspension or is lowered. The lip becomes too close to the ground and it doesn't take much at all to rip this thing of the car. If you are luck, this is all that happens and the bumper doesn't come off with it. If you have an OEM bumper then the structure is quite a bit stronger and will be more forgiving. Non OEM is structurally weaker and most often will not take prisoners...

Lips will get banged up. I would leave it black, hell, or even just spray it with Plastidip. When it gets scraped, it would show up very obviously in blue. One positive about Plastidip that isn't discussed much is how it fills and even itself. So if you have minor scrapes, you can easily respray that yourself, and hide the blemish.

Get it coated with a couple layers of ceramic pro to protect it. Do a few layers and it will protect it from road debris and rocks.
