There's a plate under the hood - mine was on the right side fenderwell - it's black and the lettering is silver and in German, but the color and code are stamped on it.
The only thing that I found was bmw - titansilber metallic

Yep, that's the plate, it should have the code stamped in one of the corners (may have to wipe away dirt if any)
