Outside temperature -40? Help!!
Recently I been hit in a parking lot from the front right side of the car. My ambient sensor is also located near the right side bumper (behind mesh/grill), although the sensor is not missing, I got a check engine light and the car says - 40. I removed the sensor and shorted the circuit with a wire. But it still says - 40. I didn't drive the car but is the sensor the issue or wiring? I heard somewhere that the car updated after driving, I waited over 2 hours (car turned off, and in sleep mode) and no change.
So does it update while driving or I have a wiring problem. Will be getting the check engine light scanned soon(I believe it is because of sensor)

Need to read codes to see if the check engine light is even the same issue..
There are at least two coolant temp sensors, plus an intake air temp sensor as well (not used for ambient air temp), so not sure why the ambient air temp would throw a code.. although that certainly doesn't mean they don't in these over engineered vehicles
