One odd thing I've noticed in my '04 545i is the extraordinary amount of time it takes for the outside air temperature (indicated on the cluster) to move to the right temperature after a large swing. For instance, if it is 70 degrees when the car is turned off and 50 degrees a few hours later, I would see the temp start around 60 when I turn the car back on and it takes about 5 minutes to work it's way down to 50. I can understand it's probably a good idea to average the temperature but I think it's being overly cautious.
Does anyone know where the outside temperature is measured so I can check for any blockage?
