I understand I was in the same situation a few months ago, but I know it's already good. Back to work back to monthly pay. But at the beginning of this year, I had a rather difficult financial situation, the monthly installments stole almost all my money. I know it was mostly because I made the wrong choice where to get a loan. After this situation with COVID, I was devastated, I didn't have a job and I can't afford to pay too much money every month. Fortunately, after a few searches, I found this site https://www.moneyexpert.com/loans/wh...y-back-a-loan/ where I could find help to get a loan with better terms.

I've purchased a couple of vehicles out of state over the years, and unfortunately the answer is often "it depends on the dealer, lender, and state involved."

If BMWFS is financing the vehicle, the dealer may be required to ensure the title and registration paperwork is handled correctly before funding is finalized. Many large dealer groups use third-party title and registration companies to process out-of-state transactions because every state has different requirements, tax rates, and documentation rules. That doesn't necessarily mean the fee is unreasonable, but I'd definitely ask for an itemized breakdown so you can see exactly what's being charged versus what's going to New Mexico.

One thing I've learned is that the actual registration fee and the dealer's processing fee are often two very different things. The state may only charge $55, but there can be additional costs for title processing, courier services, document handling, and third-party registration services. Whether those fees are negotiable is another question.

I was reading some information from ABS Tag & Title recently, and they pointed out that lenders are often more concerned with making sure the vehicle is titled correctly and their lien is recorded properly than with who physically submits the paperwork. Sometimes that's why dealers insist on using a specific registration provider instead of letting buyers handle it themselves after the sale.

I'd still call BMWFS directly and ask whether this is truly a lender requirement or simply the dealership's preferred process. If it's lender-driven, you may not have much flexibility. If it's dealership policy, there might be room to discuss alternatives or at least get a better explanation of the fees.

I'd be interested to hear whether the requirement is coming from them or from the dealer's compliance department.
